The last remaining UK curriculum Catholic secondary boarding school for boys is situated not in the home counties, but a short hop across the channel near Nantes, France. Founded as France’s first post-Revolution minor seminary in 1802  then refounded as an international college in 2002, Chavagnes  International College provides a UK-style curriculum with British GCSEs and A-levels to boys aged 10 to 18,  as well as offering French qualifications as an optional extra.

Following recent developments in the UK over the last ten years we are now the last of the great Catholic senior schools in the boarding sector to remain both boys-only and strongly Catholic. We are members of the UK-based Catholic Independent Schools Conference.
