{"id":2978,"date":"2021-05-11T17:25:35","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T15:25:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chavagnes.org\/?page_id=2978"},"modified":"2021-09-16T17:36:33","modified_gmt":"2021-09-16T15:36:33","slug":"child-welfare","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.chavagnes.org\/en_gb\/policies\/child-welfare\/","title":{"rendered":"Child welfare"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>Chavagnes International College has a moral duty to ensure that it functions with a view to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.<\/p>\n<p>The College is\u00a0 committed to ensuring that the organisation<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides a safe environment for children and young people<\/li>\n<li>Identifies children and young people who are suffering<\/li>\n<li>Takes appropriate action to see that such children and young people are kept safe from harm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In pursuit of these aims, the governing body will approve and annually review policies and procedures with the aim of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raising awareness of issues relating to the welfare of children and young people and the promotion of a safe environment for the children and young people.<\/li>\n<li>Providing procedures for reporting concerns<\/li>\n<li>Establishing procedures for reporting and dealing with allegations of abuse against members of staff<\/li>\n<li>The safe recruitment of staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The College is especially vigilant with regard to bullying, and makes a commitment to ensure a charitable and caring atmosphere among the pupils themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The College has a designated Child Protection Officer and also a member of the board of governors, trained in safeguarding.<\/p>\n<p>All staff are subject to appropriate record checks in France and in their country of origin and are recruited in accordance with standard good practice in schools.
